Blake Tollison Shelton was born and raised in Ada, Oklahoma. He was born on June 18, 1976. Blake took to country music at an early age. When he was 12 he learned how
to play guitar. When he was only 17 he left Ada, for Nashville to pursue his singing career. After years of being in Nashville, Blake finally got signed with Giant Records in 1998. He then released the future #1 hit, however Blakes label company didnt think it was a good song for him to release as his 1st lead-off single. Later on Toby Keith made Blakes version of "I Wanna Talk About Me" into his own version and it became a number one hit.
Blakes turn at a #1 hit was soon to come. He realeased "Austin" that was #1 on country charts for 5 weeks. Shortly after "Austin" Giant Records dissovled and Blake was transfered to Warner Bros. Records.
In 2003 Blake married his high school sweet-heart. 3 years later he filed for divorce. Later that year in 2006, Blake had a duet with fellow country music star, Miranda Lambert, on CMT's 100 Greatest Duets. Blake proposed on May 9, 2010 after dating for 4 years. Blake and Miranda were married on May 14, 2011.
Blakes newest album is "
Red River Blue". It was released on July 12, 2011. He also was a coach on ABC's hit show "The Voice"
. His finalist, Dia Frampton came 2nd place to Adam Levine's finalist and winner, Javier Colon. Blake has also just made his own remix of the hit 1984 movie song, "Footloose"
