Mel-colm Gerard Gibson, AO born January 3, 1956 is an american actor. He is also a screen writer, film director, and screen writer. Born in Peekskill, New York Gibson moved to Australlia at the age of 12 with his parents. His paternal grandmother was the Australlian
opera. When Gibson turned 13 he started studying the Institute os Dramatic Art. After appearing in the Mad Max and Lethal Weapon series, Gibson went onto direct and star in the Academy Award winning Braveheart. Also in 2004 he directed and produced the Passion of the Christ. Gibson gained very favorible notices from film critics. He also directed and produced Apocalypto in 2006. Jeff Cagle of time has compared Gibson and Cary Grant. Mel Gibson first movie was Mark Wydells 1984 dramam The River. Gibson then played in Gothic romance Mrs. Soffel. Gibsons first couple movies were Forever Young, Lethal Weapon, and Maverick.Then in 1989 Gibson starred in Bird on a Wire, Air America, and Hamlet. These were all released in 1990. Last in 2000 Gibson starred in 3 films each grossed about 100,000.
